🌊 Washing at 60° Removes All Dust Mite Protection: Washing any fabric, including your protector, at 60 degrees will cause it to shrink over time. This shrinkage will make it ineffective against dust mites, allowing them to pass through the fabric and trigger allergies. 

  • Washing encasements at 60 degrees will allow it to last 1-2 years
  • Freezing Encasements will allow it to last 10+ Years

 

Question: How do I know if I have a dust mite allergy?

Answer: Symptoms range from: skin conditions such as eczema and trouble breathing which results in  sneezing, runny nose, postnasal drip, cough and facial pressure / pain.

If your allergies are worse inside than outside and during winter months, then you likely have a dust mite allergy. 


Question: Should I protect my child agaisnt dust mites?

Answer: If your child has an allergy to dust mites it is extra important to reduce their allergy as it has been observed there is an "Allergic March" when one allergy they are more likley to develop allergies that to other allergens such as Dust, Food, Pollen.

Question: When choosing anti dust mite bedding what factors should i consider?

Answer: 

1. The ability for the protector to stop dust mites from coming in or out of the material and zip

2. The ability to kill the dust mites they will gather on top of the protector 

3. Comfort / Breathability / Moisture Wicking

Question: Is it enough to just protect my mattress, do I have to protect my pillow and duvet as well?

Answer: The mattress is the most important part of the bed to protect, as most of the dust mite allergens will be found here – mattresses provide dust mites with the warmth, humidity and food they need for ideal growth.  However, your pillow and duvet will contain thousands of dust mites and as it is close to more sensitive organs such as your face skin, nasal pasages and eyes it is critical to protect this to – especially in case of a severe dust mite allergy.  Ideally you should protect all the beds in the house with allergen proof bedding, in particular if you have a child who is likely to use more than one bed in the house.


Question How do Often Do I clean my Dust Mite Protectors

Answer: If you have a severe allergy you should do this a minimum of once a month if your symptoms are less seceve you can do this every 3 months.  You can kill dust mites by Vacumning or washing at 60 degrees
