Will an air purifier actually help my dust mite allergy?

It helps with the part of the problem your bedding cannot reach. Dust mite allergen is the waste particle that triggers the reaction, and every time you move in bed it goes airborne, gets breathed in, then settles back onto your skin and bedding. This purifier pulls those particles out of the air before they land. It is not a replacement for sealing your mattress and pillows, it is the other half of the job.

I already have mattress and pillow protectors. Do I need this as well?

Protectors and a purifier solve two different halves of the same problem. Your protectors seal the mites inside your mattress and pillows so they cannot reach your skin. The purifier clears the allergen already circulating in the room and coming off carpets, curtains and soft furnishings. Customers who are still itching after fitting protectors are usually reacting to what is in the air, which is exactly what this handles.

How does it actually capture dust mite allergens?

Air passes through six stages. A pre-filter catches hair, pet dander and large dust. A true HEPA 13 filter then captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, which is the size range dust mite allergen, pollen and mould spores sit in. Activated carbon absorbs odours and chemicals, a photocatalysis filter breaks down harmful compounds, a 254nm UV-C lamp sterilises the air as it passes, and negative ions draw remaining particles out of the air. The airflow is deliberately low turbulence so it cleans the room without kicking settled dust back up.

What is the UV-C lamp for, and is it safe?

The 254nm UV-C lamp kills airborne bacteria and viruses as air passes through the sealed chamber inside the unit. The light never leaves the machine, so there is nothing shining into the room. It has an 8,000 hour life, and you can switch it off from the app, remote or touch panel if you would rather run filtration alone.

Will it keep me awake?

No. It has a dedicated ultra-quiet sleep mode and an automatic air quality sensor, so it runs all night at low speed and only steps up if the air needs it. Most people leave it on auto and forget it is there. The display can be dimmed and there is a child lock if you want the controls frozen.

What size room does it cover?

It is rated for rooms of 50 to 70 square metres with a clean air delivery rate of 380 cubic metres per hour, which is well above the size of a typical UK bedroom. In a normal bedroom it turns the air over several times an hour rather than just once, which is what you want overnight.

How long before I notice a difference?

Air clears quickly, so many people notice easier breathing and less morning congestion within the first few nights. Skin usually takes longer, because your skin is reacting to the exposure that has already built up. Give it two to three weeks of running it every night, ideally alongside sealed bedding, before you judge it.

How often do the filters need changing, and what do I do in between?

The screen tells you when a change is due, so you are not guessing. In between, give the pre-filter a quick vacuum about once a month and that is the whole maintenance routine. Replacement filter sets are available separately in our store, and you can add a spare set to this order at a discount.

Can I control it without getting out of bed?
