Who tested it: Shirley Technologies, an independent UK textile laboratory with over 100 years of testing expertise.
The result: an average pore size of under 5.4 microns.
Why that number matters: dust mites measure 200 to 300 microns. That makes even the smallest dust mite roughly 37 times larger than the largest pore in our fabric, and the biggest mites over 55 times larger. They physically cannot pass through.

Our outer bedding (fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillowcases) is lab tested to a 40 micron breathable weave. It is designed to sit on top of the protector system and be washed weekly at 60°C, giving you comfort and airflow while maintaining effective dust mite control.
The two layers do two different jobs. The <5.4 micron protectors seal your mattress, duvet and pillows so dust mites and their allergens stay trapped inside, away from you. The 40 micron bedding is the soft, breathable layer you sleep on and wash weekly. Together they are the complete system: seal the source, then keep the surface clean.
