A cushion protector is the sealed barrier layer that goes directly onto the cushion pad, underneath your cover. It zips fully closed and blocks 100% of dust mites and allergen from reaching you. You keep your own covers and wash them as normal.

Yes. Dust mite allergen is one of the most common triggers for both eczema flare-ups and asthma, and it builds up in any fabric you sit on regularly. They are water resistant rather than waterproof. The tight 5 micron weave protects against most spills and small accidents, but it is not designed for heavy soaking. That is deliberate: a fully waterproof layer traps heat and feels like plastic, and we prioritise dust mite protection and comfort.

Wash every 1 to 3 months at 60 degrees and air dry. Do not tumble dry. The barrier is woven into the fabric structure, so it does not degrade with washing. Your own cushion covers can be washed as often as you like.
