UK bed sizes and what they are called

Mattress protector sizes

Standard fit suits mattresses 10cm to 30cm deep. Deep fit suits mattresses 30cm to 45cm deep.

Measure your duvet, not your bed. Duvets are often a size up from the bed they sit on.

Pillow protector, pillowcase and cushion sizes

Standard UK pillows are 50cm x 75cm. If your pillows are oversized or continental, measure them before ordering.

The Protector Set, the Complete Protector Set, the Bedding Set (fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillowcase) and the metal bed frame are all ordered by bed size: Cot Bed, Single, Double, King or Super King. The set automatically includes the matching mattress, pillow and duvet sizes, so you only need to know your bed size.

Deep mattresses, zip together beds and odd sizes

• Deep or pillow top mattresses: if yours is over 30cm deep, choose the deep fit version.
• Zip together beds: order two singles rather than one super king, so each half can be sealed and removed separately.
• Adjustable and electric beds: order by the mattress measurement, not the frame.
• European, continental or Nordic sizes: we stock EU mattress, duvet and pillow sizes as separate products.
• Anything else: call 0330 122 1646 and we will check the fit with you before you order.

How to measure

1. Strip the bed back to the bare mattress.
2. Measure the length, then the width, then the depth from the top surface down to the base.
3. Measure your duvet and pillows separately, flat and unfolded.
4. Match to the closest size above. If you are between sizes, go up.
